NSCB and Office of the UN Resident Coordinator
Conduct Forum on the MDG Indicators: Establishing the
MDG Data System & Network 
The National Statistical Coordination Board in coordination with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator will be conducting a Forum on the MDG Indicators: Establishing the MDG Data System & Network to be held on 20 October 2004, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm BSP Executive Business Center, Manila, Philippines.
Specifically, the forum aims to:

provide advocacy and briefing on the NSCB Resolution No. 10, Series of 2004, Adoption of and Enjoining Data Support to the Millennium Development Goals Indicators;

present and discuss the establishment of an MDG data system and network to institutionalize the generation, compilation, and utilization of the data series on the MDG indicators in the Philippine Statistical System, as a guide to operationalize the above NSCB resolution;

present and validate among data sources and MDG stakeholders the current status of the Philippines with respect to the MDG targets, through the latest statistics on the MDG indicators; and
-
advocate for the use of the MDG Indicators in monitoring goals and targets, and enjoin support in the preparation of the 2nd Philippines Progress Report on the MDGs.
Invited to attend the Meeting are the official sources of statistics/ indicators/data series for the measurement/monitoring of the MDGs and selected oversight agencies and local government units and non-government organizations.
