Details of Factor Flows From and To The Rest of the World
Net Factor Income from Abroad (NFIA) at constant 1985 prices
posted a higher net inflow of Php71,487 million, 15.5 percent higher than
its year-ago level. For 2001 the increment in NFIA was only 7.2 percent.
Compensation recorded a lower
growth of 6.3 percent in 2002 than the 22.8 percent growth in the previous year.
While Property Income fell by 36.3 percent, Property Expense also dropped by
14.7 percent, resulting in a drop in net property expense by 6.6 percent.
Thus, NFIA gained 15.5 percent.
The fourth quarter compensation
posted the highest growth (11.9 percent) among the four quarters of the year.
The number of deployed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) increased by 3.1 percent
during the year. Net compensation contributed 10.8 percentage points to
total NFIA growth.
NFIA contributed 0.9 percentage
point to the 5.2 percent growth of the Gross National Product for the year 2002.
