RSS (Really Simple Syndication)

Recognizing the RSS as a mainstream tool of information dissemination and the need of 24/7 statistical information updates, the NSCB offers RSS feeds on the latest official data updates, press releases, announcements and new products and services.

What is RSS?

RSS or Really Simple Syndication is an XML-based format for distributing and aggregating Web content (such as news headlines). RSS is an easy way for users to be updated automatically of the contents of their favorite websites. Instead of going to websites to read the latest news and articles, users can avail of RSS newsreaders/aggregators to read new articles as posted.

What are the contents of NSCB's RSS feeds?

NSCB offers RSS feeds/channels which contain the latest news, press releases, updated statistical information and new products and services.

Are the NSCB RSS feeds free?

Yes, the feeds are free of charge for use of individuals and organizations as long as they are for non-commercial purpose. Attribution and citation are required: articles, press releases, and announcements contained in the NSCB RSS feeds should be attributed to NSCB, unless otherwise stated.

The NSCB reserves the right to require individuals, organizations or businesses to cease distributing these feeds at any time for any reason.

How often are the NSCB RSS feeds updated?

The RSS feeds are updated as soon as new press releases, articles and announcements are posted in the website. The feeds are never updated before the website since the items in the feeds contain a link to the NSCB website.

What are needed to access the NSCB RSS feeds?

In general, one has to install in his/her desktop PC a "news/RSS reader" or "news/RSS aggregator" software. These programs display RSS information feeds from chosen websites. The NSCB does not endorse any particular software in obtaining its RSS feeds.

Both free and commercial News/RSS readers/aggregators can be downloaded on the web. Searches for "RSS software" in either Yahoo or Google will show sites offering free RSS program.
