CAR celebrates 22nd National Statistics Month
This year marks the 22nd celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM) pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990, "Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month." The objectives of the NSM are (1) to promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and (2) to elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.
The theme for the 22nd NSM is "Quality Social Protection Statistics for Focused Targeting: Improving Outcomes, Changing Lives" and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is this year's host agency.
Below are the activities to be conducted during the month-long celebration. Highlighted are the activities organized and led by the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC-CAR). Local Government Units (LGUs) and other government agencies and the academe are enjoined to conduct their own activities in celebration of the 22nd NSM. They are likewise encouraged to enroll their activities and provide a report to the RSCC-CAR.
