Unemployment Rate in the Cordillera region improves to 4.6% in July 2009

Results from the latest Labor Force Survey of the National Statistics Office show that the unemployment rate in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) went down from 5.4 percent in July 2008 to 4.6 percent in July 2009. Likewise, the percentage of underemployed or those who have jobs but want to work more declined from 23.5 percent in July 2008 to 17.6 percent during the same period this year.


The Labor Force Participation Rate in CAR increased slightly from 67.7 percent in July 2008 to 67.9 percent in July 2009.
