Unemployment Rate in CAR rises to 4.3% in January 2009

Results from the latest Labor Force Survey of the National Statistics Office reveal that the unemployment rate in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) accelerated to 4.3 percent in January 2009 from 4.0 percent in January 2008. The percentage of underemployed or those who have jobs but want to work more was pegged at 18.3 percent in January 2009.

The Labor Force Participation Rate in CAR was estimated at 66.9 percent in January 2009 compared to 66.5 percent posted in January last year.
