
10th NCS will have 8 papers from CAR
Eight (8) papers from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will be presented during the 10 th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) that will be held on October 1-2, 2007 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.
The paper entitled “ The Characteristics of Selected Micro -Entrepreneurial Ventures: A Vital Tool Towards Success ,” authored by Ms. Lorraine B. Ngaosi and Gladys M. Navarro , faculty members of the Saint Louis University, Baguio City, is one of the three invited papers that will be presented under the Trade & Industry Statistics session. The NCS is being conducted every three years by the Philippine Statistical System (PSS), spearheaded by the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), to: 1) provide a forum for practitioners and theoreticians in the field of statistics to discuss prevailing issues and emerging development s affecting the PSS; and 2) elicit the cooperation and support of statisticians and professionals in related fields from the government, academe and private sector towards a more responsive statistical system.
