17th National Statistics Month (NSM) Celebration in CAR
The celebration of the 17th National Statistics Month (NSM) this 0ctober 2006 with the theme “Empowering Consumers Through Responsive Energy Statistics,” will kick-off on October 2 with a motorcade on the major thorough-fares in Baguio City. The parade will wind up at the SM City Baguio Atrium where the opening program will immediately follow, and the cutting of the ribbon to formally open the statistical exhibit that will be open to the public for a week.
The activites lined up for the month-long celebration by the Regional, Provincial and City Statistical Coordination Committees, the local government units, universities and regional line agencies are listed on the consolidated calendar below:

The NSM is celebrated annually for the purpose of promoting, enhancing and instilling nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics and at the same time insuring the support of the public in improving and enhancing the quality and standards of statistics in the country. It has also become a showcase of unity and cooperation among the members of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) and a forum for tackling issues and developments affecting the system.
