Once again, students from different schools in the Cordillera Administrative Region displayed their statistical wizardry during the Regional Elimination of the 14th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) held at the University of the Cordilleras Ampitheater last November 15, 2005.

Tattao will represent CAR in the national finals to be held in Manila.

There had been a total of 31 participants from 17 different universities and colleges in the region. The Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) is an annual activity of the Philippine Statistical Association (PSA) conducted by the National Statistics Office (NSO) and is open to all college freshmen students currently enrolled in their second semester or had just completed their first semester in any recognized academic institutions. It aims to instill the value of statistics among students and to win public cooperation in all government statistical activities such as censuses and surveys, and eventually generate quality data for national development planning. It also intends to measure the effectiveness of the current statistics curriculum in high schools and determine possible areas for improvement so that college entrants inclined in Science will develop more interest in statistical courses.
