This could be attributed to the big demand for medical professionals particularly nurses abroad. Data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) revealed that for the year 2007, the unemployment rate of Zamboanga Peninsula was pegged at 2.9.%, a slight increase from 2.8% in 2006.
