                   ... contraceptive prevalence rate in Zamboanga Peninsula decreased in 2006?

The results of the 2006 Family Planning Survey (FPS) conducted by the National Statistics Office (NSO) showed that the overall contraceptive prevalence rate among the currently married women aged 15-49 years old in Zamboanga Peninsula was 48.3 percent. This was relatively low compared to the 2005 figure of 51.3 percent and a slight decrease compared to 2004 value of 49.8 percent.

                     .....Medical and Allied courses is still the top choice in Region IX?

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) reported that Medical and Allied course was the most preferred profession in Region IX for school year (SY) 2006-2007. This could be attributed to the big demand for medical professionals particularly nurses abroad. Although its population was consistently the highest, its enrollment size dropped by about 10.6 percent or 2012 students in SY 2006-2007.

                         .......unemployment rate in Zamboanga Peninsula rises to 2.9% in October?

Data released by the National Statistics Office  (NSO) revealed that for the year 2007, the unemployment rate of Zamboanga Peninsula was pegged at 2.9.%, a slight increase from 2.8% in 2006.
