The Zamboanga Peninsula inflation rate in January 2011 slightly accelerated to 2.6 percent from  2.5 percent in December 2010. This was due to the slight increase in the inflation rate of Services by 0.7 percentage point, Fuel, Light and Water by 0.6 percentage point,   Housing and Repairs by 0.1 percentage point, and  Miscellaneous by 0.1 percentage point.  On the other hand, Food Beverages and Tobacco, and Clothing items slightly decelerated by 0.1 percentage point. January consumer price index was recorded at 172.3.
