Zamboanga Peninsula Celebrates 22nd National Statistics Month in October

 

The importance of statistics in planning and programming and in the development efforts of the national and local governments can never be underrated.

 

To stress the importance of statistics in development, October has been declared National Statistics Month (NSM) under Presidential Proclamation 647 dated September 20 1990.

 

The observance of the 22nd NSM is aimed at promoting nationwide awareness and appreciation of the value and importance of statistics and eliciting the cooperation of the general public in upgrading the quality of statistics in the country. The theme for this year's celebration is “Quality Social Protection Statistics for Focused Targeting: Improving Outcomes, Changing Lives”.
