Female Household Population in Zamboanga Sibugay Outnumbered in 2007
According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), males outnumbered females in the household population of Zamboanga Peninsula with 51.5 percent and 48.5 prcent, respectively. The sex ratio was recorded at 106 males for every 100 females. The figure was slightly higher than the sex ratio of 105 males per 100 females in 2000. This is based on the Census of Population (POPCEN) as of August 1, 2007.
NSO disclosed that the number of households in the province was pegged at 106,708 or 12,765 households more than the 2000 census figure of 93,943 households. Moreover, the average household size in 2007 was 5.1 persons, quite lower compared to the average household size of 5.3 persons in 2000.
For the voting-age population (18 years old and over), 51.9 percent were males while 48.1 percent were females.
In the province, NSO reported that in 2007, 45.6 percent of the household population were never married. Among the never married persons, 55.7 percent were males while 44.3 percent were females.
