NATURAL/MAN-MADE ATTRACTIONS

3,003 Steps to Linabo Peak
High at the foot of the heavens, concrete steps winding along a tunnel of verdant trees leads the visitor to a panoramic vista of sky, plains and sea -- horizons and a spectacular view of the twin cities of Dipolog and Dapitan. This is Dipolog's highest elevation point -- 460 meters above sea level. A rarefied experience, at the very least. The first 1,001 steps were started in August 1991 and opened a new scenic attraction -- Linabo Peak. The 14 Stations of the Cross punctuate the way up. And at the peak is a community chapel for prayer and contemplation, a very conducive setting for both quiet and soaring spirits.

A seven-kilometer velvet stretch of fine gray sand, exquisite solitude as the fiery sun dies in the horizon to the onset of twilight, broken only by the distant cries of fishermen returning to shore with the day's catch.
Pamansalan OISCA Forest Park
All of 64 hectares of lush forests, flora, and fauna giving trekkers and nature buffs an unforgettable experience with nature at its best. A showcase of nature conservation and ecological balance, it is home to exotic birds as a declared bird sanctuary. A joint project of the Japanese OISCA organization and the city government of Dipolog, the forest park is located at Pamansalan, barangay Diwan, 28 kilometers or a 40-minute drive from the city proper.
Balintawak Spring
Right at the foot of Linabo Peak, before one takes on the 3,003 steps to the top, is Balintawak Spring. About 5 kilometers from the city proper, its waters constantly flow to the surrounding trees that make up a mini-park. A favorite tour site for Boy and Girl Scout campers.
