The Philippine Statistical System
The Philippine Statistical System (PSS) is a decentralized system that is composed of
the following:
- a policy making and coordinating body
- a general purpose statistics producing agency
- a statistical research and training center; and
- all government agencies engaged in the generation of statistical information, either as
their primary function or as a by-product of their monitoring, regulatory and
administrative functions.

BLES generates establishment-based labor data, such as labor turnover, labor practices,

Goals

The overriding goals of the PSS for the period 1993-1998 are the following:
To respond to the data requirements of the development goals of
international competitiveness and people empowerment; and
To promote efficiency of statistical operations through optimum use of
available resources and adoption of cost effective measures.
