National Statistical Information Center

Welcome to the National Statistical Information Center (NSIC), your one-stop shop for statistical information in the Philippines. The NSIC is a public service of the NSCB under a collaborative arrangement with the different data producing agencies in the Philippines.

The NSIC offers the following services and facilities 

Statistics Inquiry Services

• provide information on what, where and when statistical data are available and in what form and how data can be accessed

• if you want us to compile your specific information needs, send us a note, list your data requirements specifying the period covered by the data, and the manner of compilation, whether in print or computer readable form, including the manner of delivery whether by fax, mail or e-mail. An invoice will be sent based on the extent of the service required from us.

Bookshoppe

• serve as the marketing arm of major statistical agencies for their publications

• provide a catalogue of available publications for sale

• has a holding of more than a hundred publications of NSCB and other statistical agencies which contain statistics on various sectors.

Library

• contain a wide collection of local and international statistical publications and reference materials on various concerns

• provide updates on major social and economic indicators

• offer a library exchange program

• walk-in customers are free to use the library from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no noonbreak from Monday to Saturday

Technical Services  

• offer assistance and consultancy on data collection, presentation, and analysis

• provide assistance on forecasting and other researches

• offer services on statistical training and statistical project development

Databases

• for a fee, NSCB data (such as National Accounts, Poverty Statistics, Input-Output Table, Food Balance Sheet, etc.) can be requested via e-mail.
  

Development of the National Statistical Information
  Center System,  Phase 2

     This project is a component strategy of the Government Statistics Accessibility Program (G-SAP).   This project shall be implemented in three years with the following objectives:

• improve the dissemination of statistical information and provision of statistical services by investing on and fasttracking technology and systems development;
• expand the outreach of the NSIC services down to the countryside;
• increase the level of awareness and utilization of the products and services of the NSCB and the Philippine Statistical System;
• establish and institutionalize a mechanism for the integration of efforts and resources and the formulation of common policies among data producers in information dissemination and
• enhance the technical capability of the NSCB as the administrator of the NSIC System.

     The NSIC Project is funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) with technical assistance from Statistics Sweden.
