STATNews Top 3 Poorest Municipalities in EV found in Samar
These
results are contained in the publication entitled, “Estimation of
Local Poverty in the Philippines”, which is a part of the output of
the Poverty Mapping Project implemented by the National Statistical
Coordination Board (NSCB) with funding assistance from the World Bank ASEM
Trust Fund. The
municipal level poverty incidence were generated using Small-Area
Estimation (SAE), combining the data of the 2000 Family Income and
Expenditure Survey (FIES), 2000 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2000 Census
of Population and Housing (CPH). The
resulting poverty estimates would help our policy makers and local
communities improve targeting schemes aimed at reducing poverty.
Likewise, these would serve as benchmark figures for monitoring the
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) at the local levels.
