Issues Resolution on Proxy/Additional MDG Indicators
The
resolution was in response to the observation in the preparation of the First
Regional Progress Report on the MDGs that some indicators were not available
because they were either not generated or not applicable to the regional
situation. As a result, around
eighteen (18) proxy/additional indicators concerning health, environment, global
partnership, and poverty were identified by the NSCB in consultation with
concerned agencies. Other
agenda items discussed during the meeting include: (1) EO 135, “Providing for
the Establishment of a Well-Coordinated Local Level Statistical System”, (2)
Updates on POPCEN 2007, (3) 2006 GRDP Estimates, (4) Status Reports of the TWG
on Disaster Statistics and TWG on Integrated Statistical Framework for Eastern
Visayas Regional Plans, and (4) the National Statistical Month (NSM)
Celebration. The
18th National Statistics Month celebration in October this year
focuses on the theme, “Statistics and Actions”: A Road to a Better Life
Through the MDGs.” EVANGELINE
