STATNews 21st NSM in EV Officially Culminates One of the highlights of the program was the awarding of the Poetry “Siday” Writing Contest winner sponsored by the PIA. The “Siday” Champ, Mr. Fil Nirza, Jr., was awarded with a certificate and cash prize by PIA Regional Director Erlinda Olivia Tiu. He also delivered his winning piece to the delight of the audience.
Certificates of Recognition
were also awarded by the Regional
Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) to various agencies and institutions
in
grateful recognition of their invaluable support in the promotion of Statistics
through the conduct of significant activities in support of this year’s NSM
celebration in the region. RSCC
Chair and NEDA Regional Director Buenaventura Go-Soco, Jr., was assisted by RSCC
Co-Chair and NSO Regional Director Raul F. Dones, in awarding the certificates to DepEd, DOH, DPWH, BSP, DTI,
DOLE, POPCOM, DENR, DBM, DOT, PIA, CAAP, NSO Regional Office and its Provincial
Offices, NEDA, NSCB, PPDO-Leyte, CPDO-Tacloban, EVSU, VSU, and UPVTC.
To
visualize the significant activities conducted by various agencies and
institutions during the month-long celebration, a presentation on the Highlights
of the 21st NSM Celebration in the Region was given by Ms.
Evangeline M. Paran, RSCC Secretary and NSCB Regional Head. A data
presentation on the 2007 Population
Census Characteristics was also conducted by Ms. Mae R. Almonte,
Statistician III of NSO to show the characteristics of the population in the
different provinces in the region.
