TWG on Disaster Statistics Conducts Workshop

The Technical Working Group (TWG) on Disaster Statistics under the RSCC will be conducting a workshop on the Identification of Data Requirements in Disaster Management on January 24, 2007 at DSWD Regional Office No. 8, Tacloban City. 

The workshop will be participated in by 19 members of the TWG, Chaired by Director Salvador G. Estudillo of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and Co-Chaired by Director Leticia T. Corillo of the DSWD. 

Mr. Rey M. Gozon, Operations Officer of OCD, will brief the participants on the Types of Disasters and Disaster Prone Areas in Eastern Visayas.  Other member-agencies specifically DSWD, DA, DPWH, DOH and MGB will give orientation on their respective Disaster Reporting Systems.    

The TWG on Disaster Statistics was organized last November 30, 2006 by the RSCC to come up with a Disaster Management Indicator System for Eastern Visayas.  The workshop is the first activity of the TWG for this year.
