STATNews Samar Wins 2005 Best NSM Province
Present to receive the award were Mrs. Letecia C. Chu, Provincial Statistics Officer of NSO-Samar and Mr. Alfredo D. Dacuro, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd-Samar, representing the Statistical Community of Samar which is composed of provincial offices of national line agencies and local government offices in the province. The Search for Best NSM Province aims to: (1) recognize outstanding participation of the provinces in the region in the NSM celebration; (2) serve as incentive to participating individuals and agencies in the observance of the NSM; (3) encourage wider participation to the NSM celebration; and (4) promote the conduct of activities that will further the objectives and spirit of the NSM celebration. Anchored on last year’s NSM theme, “Modernizing Agriculture and Fishery Through Quality Statistics, the entries were judged based on the following criteria: (1) diversity of activities-30%; (2) extent of participation-30%; (3) impact- 30%; and (4) economy resources-10%.
