RSCC VIII Endorses Housing Statistics Report to RDC
 

The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) of Region VIII has approved and endorsed the Report of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Housing Statistics to the Regional Development Council (RDC) for approval and implementation by concerned agencies and LGUs in the region.  This was done during its Third Regular Meeting held last December 16, 2008 at NEDA Regional Office. 

The RSCC created the TWG to study the issue on unreliable estimates on housing demand in the region.  Series of meetings and workshops were conducted, with funding assistance from the RDC, to come up with the following outputs: (1) Methodology on the Computation of Housing Demand; (2) Estimates on Housing Demand; (3) Data Needed for the Computation of Housing Demand and Supply; (4) Data Improvement Activities; (5) Institutional Arrangements; and (6) Advocacy on TWG Outputs. 

Other agenda items discussed during the meeting include: (1) Municipal/City Poverty Estimates, (2) Establishment of Satellite NSIC at Local Levels, (3) Status Report on CBMS Implementation in Eastern Visayas, (4) RSCC Policy Agenda for CY 2009, (5) Report on 19^th NSM Celebration, and (6) Official Concepts and Definitions for the Tourism Sector.
