Antique National School Bested Other 31 City and Provincial Schools in the 21st NSM Statistical Quiz Contest


Antique National School, popularly called ANS, in San Jose de Buenavista, Province of Antique bested the other 31 secondary city and provincial schools in the region in the 21st NSM Regional Statistical Quiz Contest conducted in Iloilo City on October 21, 2010. 

 Other winners were Iloilo Central Commercial High School in Iloilo City, 2nd place; and Sun Yat Sen, Iloilo City, 3rd place.  The 1st Place received Php4,000.00 cash, trophy, certificate, and tokens; 2nd Place, Php3,000.00 cash, trophy, certificate, and tokens; and 3rd Place, Php2,000.00, trophy, certificate, and tokens. 

 The prizes were given during the 21st NSM Closing and Awarding Ceremonies held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City last October 28, 2010.  The keynote speaker, Dr. Raul N. Banias, Provincial Administrator of Iloilo Province; Dir. Candido J. Astrologo, Jr. of NSCB Central Office, Dir. Job T. Nepomuceno, Deputy Director of BSP; and Ms. Presentacion A. Penpillo, NSCB 6 Regional Head awarded the prizes.        

 The Statistics Quiz contest is undertaken every year as one mainstay activity of the National Statistics Month every October.  The contest is opened to all secondary schools throughout the region.
