To raise recognition and strengthen the public awareness and trust in official statistic, the United Nations Statistical Commission endorsed October 20 as the World Statistics Day, to be observed by national, sub-regional, regional and international statistical offices and entities.

The Search was launched to emphasize the core values of service, integrity and professionalism of the celebration and recognize outstanding achievements of statisticians behind the generation of reliable and timely official statistics and serve as an advocacy to further support the work of statisticians across different settings and domains.  The award will be given during the celebration of the World Statistics Day on October 20, 2011...(more details)
