RSET

The RSET is a publication that contains a compilation of available statistics in government that trace the patterns and trends in the regional and local socio-economic sphere. It is intended to provide government and private planners, decision makers and executives, researchers, and the general public with vital information on the many concerns facing the regional and local communities.

StatWatch

The StatWatch is an info sheet presenting the major and most common social and economic indicators for the region used by government and business planners and decision makers, and the general public. The StatWatch is updated and released periodically or as soon as the latest data releases become available. This type of publication provides timely trends of developments.

FactSheet

The FactSheet showcases relevant data/indicators and brief analyses, statistical concepts, methodologies, standards and other statistical developments which are not commonly known or readily available to users in the region. The FactSheet is disseminated to government and business planners and researchers to promote their understanding and awareness of events, etc.

Western Visayas Facts and Figures

Western Visayas Facts and Figures gives a statistical profile of the physical, social and economic conditions of the region.   It aims to promote investment areas and tourism potentials in the region. It is updated/published annually.

Press Releases

Brief articles/data features on the latest data/indicators, concepts, methodologies and developments are published in a column or Stat Corner in local dailies to reach a wider audience and the general public to make them more informed.

Statistical Data Boards (SDBs)/Bulletin Boards (SBBs)

The SDB is a mass-oriented information bulletin to keep the public updated on the major physical, social and economic attributes of their community. The boards are situated in strategic points in the region. The SBB, on the other hand, is agency-based and gives out information on the specific program areas of agencies and local government units.

Inventory of Statistics Available in the Government (ISAG) in Region 6

The inventory provides a profile of the statistics being generated/produced by government agencies and local government units in the region and also used to identify data gaps and deficiencies. The accompanying statistical directory serves as a locator of various statistical personnel/organizations of government agencies and local government units in the region. It serves as a useful guide in locating information in the region to facilitate research, thus, saving on time and resources in data sourcing.

National Statistical Information Center (NSIC)

The NSIC serves as the one-stop shop for data and statistical services in the region where data users can avail of these facilities under one roof.

Regional Web Pages and Services

The RU 6 Website features a profile of the physical, social and economic situation in Western Visayas, through historical and current data series, statistical analyses and updates on developments in the region's statistical community. The RU 6 Website is appended to/linked with the NSCB main website and the other NSCB regional websites to enable access to and sharing of information resources. The RU 6 Website services data requests and inquiries from Internet/World Wide Web users locally and around the globe. It is a useful channel for providing immediate access to data needed by investors, businessmen, etc.

Library Services and Technical Assistance

The RU 6 maintains a statistical library containing various statistical publications such as yearbooks, databook, and census and survey results of government agencies and local government units and textbooks, journals and other references. Use of the library saves the researchers' resources in going around the region for collecting data.

Bookshoppe

This facility provides statistical publications for sale to the general public. It makes available to users, especially from the private and foreign sectors, publications of agencies. It is also one vehicle for recouping investments put by data producers in the collection and publication of data.

Statistics Inquiry and Frontline Services

This service is provided to all users of data providing them information on "what" data are available, "when" they are available and "where" they can be accessed. The frontline service is a direct type of service whereby clients visiting or calling the center are immediately provided with the information they need. The frontline services are open from 8:00am-5:00pm with no noon break.

National Statistics Month (NSM)

The celebration of the NSM is held to promote awareness and recognition of the importance of statistics in development. The NSCB, being the overall coordinator of the NSM, spearheads the planning, conduct and monitoring of activities such as workshops, symposia, briefings/ conferences on statistical issues, products and services exhibit, quiz contests and other similar events. It has become an avenue for establishing a more dynamic statistical community in the region with both public and private agencies working together in the celebration.

Technical Assistance to Government Agencies and Local Government Units

Technical assistance covers a wide range of services from advice on data collection techniques, data management, analysis and interpretation to review and sampling design, project proposals and socio-economic profiles. Thru this service, users will learn how to use available data and how to use them correctly.
