NSO is Best NSM
Agency, BSP is 1st Best in Statistical Exhibit, and PPA-DOJ is 1st
Best in Statistical Bulletin Board of the 21st NSM Celebration
National Statistics Office (NSO) was proclaimed Best NSM Agency, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as 1st Best in Statistical Exhibit, and Parole and Probation Administration (PPA)-Department of Justice (DOJ) as 1st Best in Statistical Bulletin Board of the 21st NSM held this October 2010.
NSO received a cash prize of Php6,500.00, a citation, and tokens. BSP and PPA-DOJ each received a cash prize of Ph4,000.00, citation and tokens. All winning agencies were awarded during the 21st NSM Closing and Awarding Ceremonies held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City on October 28, 2010.
The Best NSM Agency award is the highest recognition given to a participating agency in the month-long activities of the NSM awarded every year. To get the award, the agency is rated using the following criteria: diversity of statistical activities undertaken (25%); extent of the agency’s participation and involvement in the NSM activities, common and in-house (25%); conveying favorable image of the agency by volunteering responsibility in common and special activities (25%); and sharing of resourcefulness and human and facility resources (25%).
The Statistical Exhibits and Statistical Bulletin Boards were judged as to content (40%); relevance to the theme of the 21st NSM and 1st World Statistics Day (20%); appropriateness of data and graphical presentations (20%); and overall impact (20%).
BSP was the Best NSM Agency and 1st Best in Statistical Exhibit in the 20th NSM in 2009. The agency needs one more win to be proclaimed as “Grand Slam” awardee for Statistical Exhibit. BSP’s title, however, still remains to be seen in the 22nd NSM in 2011.
