Western Visayas economy accelerates as industry and
services grow

The economic performance of Western Visayas in 2009 showed impressive improvements amidst efforts for recovery from the ill-effects of typhoon Frank, which devastated the region in the second quarter of 2008. From a 4.3 percent growth in 2008, it accelerated to 5.9 percent in 2009.
