RSCC Region V Excerpts from the
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the
RESOLUTION NO. 02-98 APPROVING THE
MEMBERSHIP OF THE WHEREAS, the Commission on Population (POPCOM) coordinates the implementation of the Philippine Population Management Program (PPMP) based on the population-resources-environment framework of "securing the proper balance among population, resources and environment to achieve an improved quality of life for all Filipinos by managing the growth and distribution of population"; WHEREAS,
statistics play a vital role in the implementation of the PPMP which needs
a proper mix of interventions primarily addressed towards demographic
parameters in order to balance population with available resources and the
environment; |

WHEREAS, the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC), being the highest policy-making body on statistical matters in the region, can very well respond to the statistical data needs of the PPMP; WHEREAS, pursuant to NSCB Memorandum Circular 01-92, changes in the composition of the RSCC may be done whenever the need arises; WHEREAS, the inclusion of the Commission on Population in the RSCC can result to a better support for the data needs not only of the POPCOM but of the other regional agencies as well; NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Commission on Population Regional Office V be included as member of the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC); RESOLVED FINALLY, that a copy of this resolution be furnished POPCOM for concurrence and acceptance. APPROVED, this 27th day of May 1998 at the National Economic and Development Authority, Arimbay, Legazpi City.
