RESOLUTION NO. 02-95

CREATING A TASK FORCE TO ASSIST
THE MUNICIPALITY OF LIBON, ALBAY IN THE PROCESSING OF
BARANGAY INFORMATION SYSTEM SURVEY RESULTS

WHEREAS, there is a need to institute mechanisms aimed at enhancing/improving or developing the capabilities of local government units to generate timely, accurate and useful data towards a more efficient statistical system at the subnational level in support of local planning and policy formation;

WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board and the Bicol University College of Agriculture and Forestry entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for a joint undertaking in implementing the Development of a Barangay Information System Project in the Province of Albay;

WHEREAS, the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee is tasked with monitoring statistical activities and developments in the region;

WHEREAS, the BIS Project has been presented to and endorsed by the Committee being a pilot undertaking in the region involving the Local Government Unit;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Libon has been chosen as the pilot municipality in the conduct of project activities and has conducted, through its own resources, a barangay household survey in line with project work plan;

WHEREAS, problems are being encountered in the processing of the survey results;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that a task force be created to assist the municipality of Libon, Albay in the processing of the Barangay Information System survey results;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that members of the task force shall be comprised of the National Economic and Development Authority, National Statistics Office, Bureau of Agricultural Statistics and the National Statistical Coordination Board; and that such task force shall hold working meetings as frequently as it sees fit and shall report to this Committee upon completion of its assigned task;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the member agencies of the task force and to the Honorable Mayor of Libon, Albay.
