RSCC Region V Excepts from the
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the
RESOLUTION NO. 02-94 RECOGNIZING THE
INTER-AGENCY COORDINATING COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the grains industry statistics in the region has been characterized by inadequacy in terms of timeliness and reliability due to conflict of data and lack of coordination among data generating agencies; WHEREAS, this situation has hampered the formulation of policy recommendations for the improvement of the grains supply management in the region; WHEREAS,
the National Food Authority initiated the organization of an Inter-Agency
Coordinating Committee on Cereal Grains to address the pressing need for a
unified grains statistics to be used in policy formulation and grains
supply management; |

WHEREAS, the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee has been created to serve as the highest policy making body on statistical matters in the region and to oversee the implementation of coordinative mechanisms at the regional, provincial and city levels; WHEREAS, the objectives of the Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee on Cereal Grains are supportive of the functions of the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee; WHEREAS, the provision of linkages between the two committees is beneficial mutually to both in particular, and to the statistics users, in general; NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee recognize the Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee on Cereal Grains as one of its standing committees; RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee recognize the Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee on Cereal Grains as the official source of grains statistics in the region; RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished to all concerned for their information and guidance. APPROVED, this 31st day of May 1994 at the National Economic and Development Authority, Arimbay, Legazpi City.
