RSCC Region V Excepts from the
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the RESOLUTION NO. 02-2011
REMINDING ALL CONCERNED TO GENERATE
WHEREAS, Republic Act 7192 known as "Women in Development and Nation Building Act" recognizes the role of women in nation building and ensures the fundamental equality before the law of men and women; WHEREAS, the government has adopted the Philippine Development Plan for Women (PDPW), 1989-1994 and issued Executive Order 348 directing all government agencies to implement the programs outlined in the Plan;
WHEREAS, in support of RA 7129, the
Philippine Statistical Development Program 2005-2010 translates the mission
of the Philippine Statistical System into programs and activities, among
others to produce gender-sensitive statistics for all sectors of the
economy; |

WHEREAS, the availability of a comprehensive set of gender-disaggregated information will provide a sound basis for formulating plans and programs aimed at improving the status of women and for monitoring the impact of said plans and programs; WHEREAS, NSCB Resolution No. 8-94 was issued enjoining different agencies to promote gender concerns in the generation of statistics; WHEREAS, the RSCC as the highest policy-making body on statistical matters in the region was created to establish appropriate mechanisms for statistical coordination and to address statistical concerns at the regional, provincial and city/municipal levels; NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it: RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to reiterate to all concerned the generation and dissemination of gender-disaggregated data; RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished to all concerned agencies for information and guidance. APPROVED, this 6th day of September 2011 in Legazpi City.
