RSCC Region V Excepts from the
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the RESOLUTION NO. 02-2007
APPROVING THE MONITORING SYSTEM FOR
THE WHEREAS, pursuant to the country’s commitment as signatory to the 2000 Millennium Declaration, the NSCB Executive Board passed NSCB Resolution No. 10-2004 Approving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) indicators for adoption and Designating the NSCB as the Repository of MDG Indicators in the country;
WHEREAS, in support of the NSCB
Resolution, the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee passed
Resolution No. 02-06 designating the NSCB Regional Division V as the
repository of Millennium Development Goal (MDG) indicators in the Bicol
Region; |

WHEREAS, the Regional Development Council likewise passed RDC Resolution No. 05-85, series of 2006 "Enjoining Regional Government Agencies and Local Government Units to Provide Data Support to the MDG Indicators"; WHEREAS, appropriate mechanisms are being pursued to localize the MDGs in the planning, policy- and decision-making processes of the line agencies and government units at the local level; WHEREAS, the localization of MDGs requires the establishment of a monitoring system that would harmonize the generation of MDG indicators, identify and resolve data gaps and prescribe reporting systems necessary to track down progress in the achievement of the development goals; NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it: RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the RSCC approve the Monitoring System for the Localized Millennium Development Goals of Region V as detailed in Annex “A” attached to and made part of this resolution; RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished all concerned for appropriate action. APPROVED, this 11th day of April 2007 in Legazpi City.
