WHEREAS, advocacy efforts have been initiated to localize the MDGs in the planning, policy- and decision-making processes of line agencies and government units at the local level;

WHEREAS, such localization efforts necessitate the institutionalization of a monitoring system that would harmonize the generation of MDG indicators, identify and resolve data gaps and prescribe reporting systems necessary to track down progress in the achievement of the development goals;

WHEREAS, the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee is mandated to establish appropriate mechanisms for statistical coordination at the regional, provincial and municipal/city levels and to address statistical concerns in these areas;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it:

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the National Statistical Coordination Board Regional Division V be designated as the repository of MDG indicators in the Bicol Region and as such perform its tasks as provided for under NSCB Resolution No. 10-04;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the RSCC request the Regional Development Council for support in implementing NSCB Resolution No. 10-04 to enjoin all concerned data producing agencies and local government units to generate and regularly provide timely and accurate statistics on the MDG indicators to the NSCB Regional Division V;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished the Regional Development Council for appropriate action, and the local government units and regional line agencies involved in the generation of MDG indicators for adoption.
