WHEREAS, full implementation of the project would necessitate a sound database of indicators for this sector;

WHEREAS, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) in cooperation with the National Statistics Office (NSO), Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS) and the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) with the support of other government agencies prepares the Quarterly Regional Economic Situationer (QRES) , a quarterly report on the over-all economic situation of the region;

WHEREAS, the QRES is based on strategic indicators regularly generated by statistical agencies and gathered through a survey of key informants in the regions;

WHEREAS, the QRES aims to provide information on policy formulation, policy action/intervention and development outlook of the regional economy;

WHEREAS, tourism data have been identified to be a critical indicator in the preparation of the QRES; 

WHEREAS, the revised guidelines for the preparation of the QRES called for the inclusion of the Department of Tourism as a member of the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC);

NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Office V be designated as a member of the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC);

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished the designee for concurrence and acceptance.
