RSCC Region V Excepts from the
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the
RESOLUTION NO. 01-2002
ADVOCATING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), the highest policy-making and coordinating body on statistical matters by virtue of Executive Order No. 121 issued on January 30, 1987, created the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) to serve as its counterpart in the region; WHEREAS,
the RSCC is mandated to establish appropriate mechanisms for statistical
coordination at the regional, provincial and municipal/city levels and to
address statistical concerns obtaining in these areas; |

WHEREAS, the NSCB passed NSCB Resolution No. 14-02, “Adoption of the Core Indicators for Population and Development (POPDEV) Planning at the Local Level” on June 5, 2002; WHEREAS, the RSCC recognizes the importance of a single framework of indicators/information systems for a more effective development plan at the local level; NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the RSCC approves the adoption of the core indicators for POPDEV planning at the local level; RESOLVED FURTHER THAT, the RSCC enjoins local government units (LGUs) to endeavor to compile the statistics/indicators and establish mechanisms to operationalize the core POPDEV indicators and appropriate some amount from their annual Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA); RESOLVED FINALLY THAT, copies of the Resolution be furnished all local government units and all concerned agencies in the region for their compliance. APPROVED, this 31st day July 2002 at the National Economic and Development Authority, Arimbay, Legazpi City.
