Economy
About 70 percent of Ligao City's economy is agriculture-based. Majority
of the population
 depends
upon farming and its related industries. Only a small portion of the
population are owners of land which they till and majority are tenants and
seasonal farm help. Coconut and rice are the primary products and root
crops and vegetables are secondary products. Major industries include
agro-industries, piggery and poultry and concrete products. Handicrafts,
noodles manufacturing and food processing are the leading home industries. Among the products that are exported are handicrafts, coco coir products,
hogs and poultry and organic fertilizer.
