Transportation

The municipality of Donsol has a network of 7 concrete bridges and concrete roads from the municipal boundary of Pilar, Sorsogon to the poblacion area. Inland and coastal barangays are accessed through predominantly gravel or earth roads with some having concrete stretches. A minimal number of concrete bridges can also be found in some barangays. Of the 51 barangays in the municipality, 16 interior barangays are not accessible by land transportation.

A bus company regularly accommodates passengers bound for Metro Manila and vice versa while jeepneys and utility vehicles take passengers to and from Legazpi City and Daraga on a daily basis. Tricycles serve as the main means of transportation in the poblacion area and nearby barangays while motorcycles ply the newly-opened roads which are hard to reach by jeepneys and tricycles.

Communication

An FM radio station operates in the municipality reaching all the barangays and a cable television company serves all barangays within the poblacion area. Two public calling stations and a post office also serve the municipality. Two of the country's biggest cellular network providers have cellsites in the municipality serving the communication needs of the residents.

Education

The municipality of Donsol has 50 day care centers established in 45 barangays, 46 elementary schools located in both the east and west districts, 3 comprehensive high schools, 1 independent national high school and 3 vocational high schools.

Medical Facilities

Donsol District Hospital is the only hospital serving the municipality and the nearby Pilar town. Health services are also provided by municipal health center and 12 barangay health units.
