Demography

Caramoan is a 2nd class municipality on the Caramoan Peninsula, in the province of Camarines Sur, Philippines. According to the 2007 Census of Population by the National Statistics Office, it has a population of 40,810 people.  Population density of Caramoan was placed at 181.4 persons per square kilometer in 2007. Mother of Peace

Caramoan is politically subdivided into 49 barangays. Guijalo, Gibgos and Tawog are the most populated barangays of Caramoan while Canatuan registered the least population with 349.

Caramoan is a Roman Catholic dominated town. It is home to the Saint Michael Parish Church, a historic old church built in the 15th century. It is also the site of the tallest image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located on top of Mt. Caglago in Tabgon, a popular pilgrimage site founded by Rev. Fr. Felix Barela.
