Where To Go And What To See

FIRST JOSE RIZAL MONUMENT     The town of Daet holds the distinction of being the first town to erect a monument in honor of Jose Rizal. This is the first monument to be built throughout the Philippines. The effort was initiated by Lt. Col. Antonio Saez of the Revolutionary Army. The unveiling was held on December 30, 1898. This historical landmark stands on the corner of Magallanes and Justo Lucban Streets.

BAGASBAS BEACH     The most popular beach in the province. Located at Bagasbas, it is four kilometers from the town of Daet. It is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

LANOT BEACH     A fascinating creation of nature. It is a hot spring situated near the Camarines Sur boundary, 39 kilometers south of Daet. Barangay Lanot could only be reached through Hinipaan which is roughly 15 kilometers south of Daet. It is fast becoming a favorite tourist spot in Daet.

PAG-ASA BEACH     It is 46 kilometers northwest of Daet. It takes only one hour to reach the place. It is 3 kilometers from the town of Panganiban.

KANANAP FALLS     Roughly 18 kilometers west of Daet, one has to hike 5 kilometers to reach the scenic attraction. The deep cool water makes it suitable for swimming.

ITOK WATERFALLS     About 79 kilometers northwest of Daet and 4 kilometers west of Capalonga town. Surrounded by fresh and lush foliage which make it romantic and inviting, it has a scenic vista.

CANTON CAVE     A 65-minute sea travel north of Mercedes town, it's an exhilarating wonder for spelunking enthusiasts.

SAN JOSE BEACH     Fine and white sand are warmly spread over the beach. It is along the blue Pacific Ocean. A 15 minute ride north of Daet. Ideal for picnic and swimming.

PULANG DAGA     A one-hour ride by bus northwest of Daet. Frequented by picnickers and swimmers. Clean white sands. It commands a panoramic view of the wide Pacific Ocean.

MAMPUROG RIVER     A 15-minute ride by bus southwest of Daet along the Daet-Mampurog road. The river is one kilometer off the road. It makes a lovely venue to spend a cold morning and/or afternoon. A nice place to wade and explore or get warm inspiration.

TULAY NA LUPA RESERVOIR     Located in the town of Labo. It is a recreational resort with truly natural and fresh swimming pool.

APUAO GRANDE BEACH RESORT     Located on an island with fine white beach fronting the resort. The other side of the island is good for snorkeling, surfing and scuba diving. There is also a nine-hole golf course and a dive camp.

MERCEDES FISHING COMMUNITY     During fishing season hundreds of fishing vessels of different tonnage and capacity drop anchor at this community. There is a fluvial procession held in connection with the annual town fiesta on the 13th of June.
