"ENJOINING REGIONAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND LOCAL
GOVERNMENT WHEREAS, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), a global commitment of the United Nations member countries in September 2000, consist of 8 major goals and 18 specific measurable targets that are expected to be achieved by 2015; WHEREAS, in line with the mainstreaming of the MDGs in national and local development planning and to provide data support for monitoring the country’s progress in attaining the MDGs, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) passed Resolution No. 10 series of 2004 enjoining data producing agencies and local government units to generate and regularly provide timely and accurate statistics on a set of MDG indicators; WHEREAS, the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC), a special committee of the Regional Development Council (RDC) 5, passed a concomitant resolution enjoining concerned regional government agencies and local government units to provide data support to the MDG indicators; NOW, THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, BE IT RESOLVED to support the RSCC and NSCB Resolutions enjoining regional government agencies and local government units to provide timely and accurate data and information on the MDG indicators; RESOLVED FINALLY that a copy of this Resolution be furnished the concerned agencies and the provincial and city government units in the region for their information and appropriate action.
