■  Regional and Local Planners Train on DevInfo

The National Economic and Development Authority in Region V (NEDA5) trained 32 planners/data managers from various LGUs and agencies in the region on DevInfo Database Program, a user-friendly application software developed by the UNICEF, last February 9-11, 2006, at the Divine Word College of Legazpi City.

Originally created as a tool to monitor the progress of the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals worldwide, DevInfo is a versatile software that can be applied as well for local planning and decision-making. Using its various database applications, the participants came up with customized DevInfo database modules and sample packaged presentations of their respective LGUs and agencies for their training output. As follow-through activity, they will meet anew on March this year to facilitate data sharing and standardization of their development indicators.

 

 
The participants included representatives from the PPDOs of Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes and Masbate; CPDOs of Legazpi, Naga, Tabaco and Sorsogon; and regional agencies of the CHR, DSWD, DOH, DepEd, NSO, NSCB, PNP and DOLE. [NEDA5]
 
■  RSCC Resolution No. 02-2006

The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC), Region V in its meeting held on September 5, 2006 at the National Economic and Development Authority, in Legazpi City passed Resolution No. 02-2006 designating the NSCB Regional Division  V as repository of the MDG indicators in the region and enjoining data support from agencies and LGUs. ■  RDC Resolution No. 05-85 Series of 2006

The Bicol Regional Development Council (RSCC) in its meeting held on September 26, 2006 at the National Economic and Development Authority, in Legazpi City passed a resolution enjoining regional government agencies and local government units to provide data support to the MDG indicators. [RDC5]

■  First Regional MDG Report

The First Bicol Regional MDG Report is the process of finalization. The preparation of the report was commissioned by the Development Academy of the Philippines through the National Economic and Development Authority. The NSCB Regional Division V MDG Watch is presented in consonance with the report. [NEDA5]

■  RSCC Resolution No. 02-2007

The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC), Region V in its meeting held on April 11, 2007 at the National Economic and Development Authority, in Legazpi City passed Resolution No. 02-2007 approving the monitoring system for the localized Millennium Development Goals of Region V. [NSCB5]

■  RSCC Resolution No. 03-2007

The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC), Region V in its meeting held on April 11, 2007 at the National Economic and Development Authority, in Legazpi City passed Resolution No. 02-2007 requesting the DILG V to include the monitoring system for the localized Millennium Development Goals of Region V in the orientation for newly elected officials. ■  MDG Forum

The NSCB Regional Division V conducted a Forum on the Millennium Development Goals on October 8, 2007 at the NEDA Conference Hall. This is one of the activities during the celebration of the 18th National Statistics Month in October. A total of 53 participants from regional line agencies, local government units and non-government organizations attended the forum. [NSCB5]
