Definition of Terms

Life Expectancy at Birth - the average number of years a person expects to live under prevailing mortality conditions.

Live Birth - refers to the complete expulsion or extraction of a product of conception from its mother, each product of such birth is considered alive.

Mortality - the intensity of death in a population.
