APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE POLICY AGENDA OF RSCC
REGION IV-A FOR CY 2007
WHEREAS,
Executive Order No. 121 mandated the NSCB to establish appropriate
mechanisms for statistical coordination at the regional,
provincial and city levels to address statistical concerns in
these areas;
WHEREAS,
the NSCB created Regional Statistical Coordination Committees
(RSCCs) in the regions through Resolution No. 1, Series 1992 to
provide direction and guidance to regional/local statistical
development activities;
WHEREAS,
one of the major functions of the RSCC is to institute measures to
strengthen the statistical capability in the regions by setting
priority on the statistical activities;
WHEREAS,
the RSCC monitors activities of the statistical system at the
local level, identifies and prioritizes current and emerging
concerns, and formulates recommendations for policy interventions
consistent with existing national statistical policies;
WHEREAS,
there is a need to come up with a one-year policy agenda that will
guide the RSCC in the discharge of its functions to ensure that
all statistical concerns are completely covered and properly
addressed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED,
to approve and
adopt the policy agenda as contained in
Annex A
hereto
attached,
which have
been identified as priority concerns necessitating RSCC action and
would serve as the RSCC’s guide in its deliberations and
discussions in the performance of its mandate for the year;
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the
policy agenda shall be subjected to periodic evaluation for
modification to ensure sustainability and dynamism;
