CREATING
THE SOUTHERN TAGALOG REGION STATISTICAL NETWORK
WHEREAS,
there is a need to strengthen statistical coordination at the
subnational levels through the institutionalization of appropriate
statistical coordination mechanisms that will rationalize data
generation, utilization and dissemination;
WHEREAS,
the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) as the
highest policy making and coordinating body on statistical matters
in the region may institute measures to strengthen statistical
capability and establish coordinative mechanisms and linkages in
the region;
WHEREAS,
there is a need to designate a point person in each government
agency/institution and local government unit (LGU) to serve as
liaison officer who will coordinate the provision of data to
users, facilitate communication of statistical issues and concerns
obtaining in the agency/unit, participate in the discussion and
resolution of statistical issues in the technical working
groups/task forces that may be created by the RSCC, and serve as
contact person on all statistical matters of the agency/unit;
WHEREAS,
these designated agency/LGU statisticians shall form the STR
Statistical Network as a mechanism for better communication of
statistical issues and efficient planning, coordination,
implementation, and monitoring of statistical development
activities of government agencies and LGUs;
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the
RSCC approve the creation of the STR Statistical Network;
RESOLVED
FURTHER, that the RSCC enjoin all government agencies/
institutions and LGUs to designate a point person, to be called
designated agency/LGU statistician, to the STR Statistical
Network.
