As the overall coordinator of the Philippine
Statistical System, the NSCB prepares and disseminates statistical
publications containing official statistics produced by the various
government statistical agencies.
The following are some of the NSCB
publications which can be ordered from the bookshoppe of the National
Statistical Information Center (NSIC).

Statistical Yearbook (PSY) |

The Philippine
Statistical Yearbook (PSY) is a compilation of major economic and
social statistical information produced by various government
agencies, as well as data from international organizations. It is
a convenient statistical reference for those engaged in corporate
planning, market forecasting, research, and technical studies.
Data are available
on the national level with some regional breakdowns and grouped in
19 economic and social sectors. An added component is a section on
some selected economic and social indicators of selected countries
of the world.

| National
Accounts of the Philippines and Gross Regional Domestic Product /
Expenditure |

The National
Accounts presents measures of the aggregate or sum of factor
incomes/payments arising from the production activities of the
country. It presents the total final goods and services produced
in a given period and as such records the contribution of the
various economic sectors to the performance of the economy.
The National Accounts also records the flows from production to
consumption, accumulation, and foreign trade.

National Accounts Series, Base Year: 1985 |

The Link Series
presents the Philippine National Accounts at base year 1985. It
incorporates the revisions in scope, coverage, and methodologies
in estimating the parameters in the accounts. Such revisions were
made to make the accounts more meaningful and more sensitive to
the changing Philippine economy.
Volume 1 of the
Link Series presents the accounts at the aggregate national level
with the corresponding sectoral breakdowns.
Volume 2, on the hand, shows the quarterly movements/trends of the
different economic sectors.

| Quarterly
Economic Indices of the Philippines |

The Quarterly
Economic Indices (QEI) of the Philippines intends to provide
measures of growth in production, gross revenue, employment and
compensation in the eight major sectors of the economy.
Specifically, these indicators were developed to guide users for a
more meaningful economic analysis of current economic behavior and
events. It is also used as deflators to express a current value in
real terms, as bases for wage formulation and for forecasting and
projections. The sectoral indices are compiled using 1978 as base
year.

Food Balance Sheet (PFBS) |

The Philippine Food
Balance Sheet (PFBS) provides quantitative estimation on the
national food supply situation which, when matched against
nutritional standards, could show sufficiency or insufficiency to
meet the requirement of the people. It shows the trend in food
production, changing pattern, the flows as well as the net supply
of food in the country. The PFBS publication is released every
three years, however, annual statistics are available in print-out
or diskette upon request.

| Economic
and Social Indicators (ESI) |

The Economic and
Social Indicators (ESI) contains the Economic and Social Impact
Analysis (ESIA) Indicator System developed the NSCB to strengthen
the planning system by providing the means by which economic
progress and social change could be monitored and measured more
effectively. Specifically, the indicator system seeks to monitor
the achievement of economic and social development goals set forth
in the Medium and Long-Term Development Plans.
This edition is the
tenth of a series of the ESI since its initial release in 1980.
However, this issue is the first of a series based on the revised
framework that is consistent with the Medium-Term Philippine
Development Plan 1993-1998. In this publication, more than a
hundred indicators grouped into four development goals/areas of
concern are included in the publication. In addition, definitions of terms and technical notes are discussed in the appendices.

and Men in the Philippines: A Statistical Handbook |

This handbook on
Women and Men is an attempt to present statistics in a
user-friendly, interesting and easy to understand way through
simple tables and charts accompanied by brief analyses and short
explanatory texts. This handbook contains identified gender
concerns, statistical tables and other information covering ten
areas of concerns needed to analyze these concerns were collected,
analyzed and consolidated into a statistical booklet.
This handbook hopes
to provide information to planners, researchers and other users to
guide them in advocacy work and in the formulation of plans,
programs, and policies for the advancement of women.

Indicators (EI) |

The Economic
Indicators is a monthly publication, which presents the latest
available monthly statistical indicators of the levels and trends
of the country's economic activities and performance. The
indicators are presented in a moving thirteen-month time series to
guide data users towards a more meaningful analysis of economic
behavior and events.

| Regional
Social and Economic Trends (RSET) |
 |
The RSET is an
annual compendium of time-series social and economic data at the
subnational level. It is available for Regions I, IV, V,VI, VIII,
IX and XII. On the other hand, Region XI has the Southern Mindanao
Statistical Yearbook (SMSY) the format of which is similar to the
RSET.
Graphics and
illustrations are included to highlight significant indicators.
