The National Statistical Coordination
Board - Regional Division IV has the following functions:
Communicate to statistical authorities in Manila the problems, needs and
other requirements of data producers and users in the region;
Develop/operationalize socio-economic frameworks and indicator systems
that are reflective of and relevant to the region’s conditions and
statistical databases to respond to the needs of users for measures of
economic and social development;
Serve as a one-stop-shop for statistical services and products in the
region, coordinate with the data producers, provide technical assistance
to clients/data users, consult with educational institutions and
continually initiate improvements in services and products offered;
Conduct assessment of data production and dissemination, identify gaps and
deficiencies and recommend/implement activities, programs and projects for
the improvement of frameworks and indicator systems and to strengthen
existing systems of data production, dissemination and utilization;
Disseminate in the region the statistical policies issued by the NSCB
Executive Board and the different statistical standards and classification
systems on government statistics developed by the NSCB and other
mechanisms for coordinating the subnational statistical system, monitor
adoption by concerned agencies, and make recommendations;
Provide secretariat and technical services to the
Regional
Statistical Coordination Committees (RSCC) - coordination of
activities of the RSCC in support of its policy making and issue
resolution functions; implementation of activities and other tasks
identified/approved by the RSCC to address statistical issues and other
concerns in the region; and interaction with data producers, providers and
users to ensure consideration of statistical concerns;
Evaluate the technical aspects and budgetary requirements of statistical
activities/projects of agencies in the region in line with the designation
of statistical activities to generate critical data for decision-making in
all sectors and prepare recommendations for approval of the RSCC and its
endorsement to the RDC, NSCB and DBM;
Formulate guidelines on and implement a monitoring, evaluation, and
feedback system for statistical activities/projects of agencies in the
region; and
Perform other functions as may be assigned by the NSCB Secretary-General
and as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of Executive Order No.
121.
