Bed Capacity - the total number of beds in an accommodation establishment.

Country of Residence - a country where one usually resides but may not necessarily be the same as the country of origin.

Cruise Passengers - refers to visitors who arrive to and depart from the Philippines on the same ship.

Excursionist - temporary visitor staying less than twenty-four hours in the country visited.

Hotel - an establishment that usually provides lodging, food service, valet service and other types of guest services that may include meeting rooms and dining facilities for groups.

Inn - a small hotel.

Length of Stay, Average - refers to the average number of nights/days a guest stays in an establishment.  It is calculated from the duration of a guest's stay from his/her registration until the check-out from the establishment.

Motel - an establishment that usually provides only lodging although some have restaurants attached to them.

Occupancy Rate - percentage number of rooms sold to total number of rooms available (excluding complimentary rooms, rooms occupied by hotel staff, and out-of-order rooms).

Room - an area set off by walls or partitions used as a living quarter in an accommodation establishment classified as follows:
     a) Single Room - a room which is occupied by one person only;
     b) Double Room - a room that can accommodate two persons at the same time;
     c) Twin Room - a room occupied by two persons and having two single beds;
     d) Family Room - a room tagged with a special rate when occupied by a family; and,
     e) Suite - a group of rooms occupied as a unit with connecting doors to or adjoining a parlor through a common private hallway.

Tourist - any person whose permanent place of residence is in another country, who stays in the Philippines for at least 24 hours for any reason other than following an occupation remunerated from within the Philippines.

Tourist Receipts - the receipts of a country in the form of consumption expenditures or payments for goods and services made by foreign visitors out of foreign currency resources.

Visitor - any person visiting a country other than that in which he has his usual place of residence for any reason other than following an occupation remunerated from within the country visited.

Visitor, Foreign - a foreign national visiting the country as a tourist.
