RSCC XI held Third Quarter
Meeting

The RSCC XI held its third quarter meeting last August 28,
2006 at the provincial capitol of Davao del Sur. The following
were the agenda of the meeting: (1) Presentation on the 2005 Gross
Regional Domestic Product; (2) LGU Support on the Generation of Data for
2006 GRDP; (3) Separation of Davao City data from Davao del Sur data;
(4) Presentation of 2005 Panabo City Poverty Maps; (5) 17th National
Statistics Month/10th National Convention on Statistics; (6) Agri
Statistics at the City/Municipal level; (7) MDG Watch; and (8)
Presentation of Davao City at the Web.
During this meeting, the RSCC XI
passed six Resolutions. These are the following: (1)
Requesting Support from the
Local Government Units (LGUs) in Sourcing Data for the Estimation of the
Gross Regional Domestic Product; (2)
Enjoining Bangko Sentral Ng
Pilipinas Davao Regional Office, National Telecommunication Commission XI
and Commission on Audit XI to Provide Timely and Accurate Data Needed for
Estimation of the Gross Regional Domestic Product; (3)
Requesting the
National Statistics Office, (NSO), XI; National Statistical
Coordination Board, (NSCB), XI;
Commission on Higher Education, (CHED), XI;
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, (TESDA), XI; and Other
Regional Statistical Data Generating Agencies to Segregate Davao City Data
from Davao del Sur Data; (4)
Requesting the President of the University of Southeastern Philippines,
(USEP), to Designate the School of Applied Economics, (SAEc), as the
Institutional Representative of the USEP to the Regional Statistical
Coordination Committee XI; (5)
Requesting the President of
the Ateneo de Davao University, (AdDU), to Designate the Social Research,
Training and Development Office, (SRO), as the Institutional Representative
of the USEP to the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee XI; and
(6) Affirming and
Implementing NSCB Resolution No. 10 Series of 2004 by Designating NSCB
Regional Division 11 as the Repository of MDG Indicators in Region 11.
