Poverty Maps of Panabo City in
CD-Rom

The National Statistical
Coordination Board (NSCB) Regional Division XI, in collaboration with the
City Planning and Development Office of Panabo City produced the second
version of the poverty maps of Panabo City in cd-rom. The cd-rom version
contains the thematic maps for 2003 and 2005, some information about the
city, list of poverty mapping indicators, and a guide on how to read the
maps.
The poverty maps of
Panabo City will be presented in a Users’ Forum as copies of the maps in
cd-rom will be distributed. Among the expected participants are the Barangay
Captains or their representative from the 40 barangays of Panabo City,
Department Heads, and some regional line agencies. The participants are
expected to validate the maps and suggest ways to improve them.
The poverty maps contains 36 indicators included in the
Minimum Basic Needs survey. It also shows the corresponding maps for the
composite indexes in nutrition, water and sanitation, health, clothing,
shelter, peace and order, income and livelihood, education, people’s
participation, family care/psychosocial needs, survival, security, enabling,
and poverty.
The Panabo City poverty maps is the sixth set of
poverty maps produced by NSCB XI. The other poverty maps was made for the
provinces of Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, Davao del
Norte, and the first version for the city of Panabo. These maps attempt to
respond to the demands for more locally disaggregated statistics useful for
local planners, investors and other stakeholders.
