        ... gender disparity in education between women and men in Davao region is getting more unequal? Gender-related estimates generated by the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) showed that gender disparity in education as measured by Gender Education Index (GEI) deteriorated between women and men in all provinces of Davao Region. GEI is one of the components of the Gender Development Index (GDI).

PRESS RELEASE: NSCB XI Releases 2009 Compendium of Women and Men in Region XI   In a continuing effort to provide relevant statistics to various stakeholders and in line with the celebration of International Women’s Month as well, the National Statistical Coordination Board – Regional Division XI (NSCB-RDXI) releases the 2009 issue of the Compendium of Women and Men in Region XI. 

PRESS RELEASE: NSCB XI Releases 2005 and 2007 Poverty Maps of Davao del Norte   The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Regional Division XI has finished the updated poverty maps of the province of Davao del Norte. The updated 2005 and 2007 poverty maps of Davao del Norte will be presented in at the Ceremonial Hall, Capitol Building of Davao del Norte in March 5, 2009. The expected participants were the staff and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC) of the province, staff and City/Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (CPDC/MPDC) of the province, and various Provincial Offices like the DepED, PNP, DSWD, and DOH. 

PRESS RELEASE: NSCB XI Releases the First Edition of Regional Social and Economic Trends (RSET) - Davao Region   The 2008 Regional Social and Economic Trends (RSET) for the Davao Region is the first RSET publication produced by the National Statistical Coordination Board Regional Division XI (NSCB RD XI). The RSET Davao Region is part of the continuing effort of the NSCB RD XI in its desire to provide timely, relevant, accurate and useful data to government planners, decision makers, investors, researchers, general public and to other stakeholders.

Davao Region's annual population growth at 1.71 percent   From 2000 to 2007, Davao Region’s population has grown by an average 1.71 percent annually. This translates to an additional 71,079 people a year on the average or about 195 persons per day or roughly 8 persons in an hour.  If the annual population growth rate of the region continues at 1.71 percent, the population is expected to double in 40 years.

Statnews: RSCC conducts Fourth Quarter Meeting, approves 4 resolutions   The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) XI held its fourth quarter meeting for this year on December 16, 2008 at the newly inaugurated office of National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) XI in Davao City.  The following were the agenda of the meeting: (1) Reorganization of RSCC/Expansion of Membership; (2) Small Area Estimates on Municipal Poverty Statistics ; (3) Generation of Statistics for Highly Urbanized Cities; (4) Updated MDG Watch; (5) 2006 Poverty Maps of Digos City;  and (6) Proposed 2009 RSCC XI Policy Agenda.
